    Abstract

This thesis delineates the optimization of design parameters and stability considerations for a cargo-carrying bicycle, aiming to enhance its utility and safety. Through a multidisciplinary approach, a novel framework for assessing and improving the structural integrity and user-friendliness of cargo bicycles is developed. Utilizing numerical simulation and multibody dynamics, this study identifies critical factors influencing the performance and stability of these vehicles. Results demonstrate initial areas where the design of the vehicle can be adapted due to the special design constraints of the vehicle in question. This research not only advances the engineering design of cargo bicycles but also provides insights into their potential impact on reducing urban traffic congestion and pollution. Future directions include the improvement of the current simulation model to add elements that bring the model closer to reality.
