Abstract
Users of state-of-the-art (car- and pedestrian-) navigation systems are supposed to understand an abstract depiction of navigational information and translate it to their surrounding environment. In order to ease the perception of routing information we propose a see-through-based theatre experience of visual perception, merging digital elements with the panorama of the real world. In [a] and [b] we have already introduced this innovative visual paradigm for car navigation systems, and are now going to describe the porting of it to hand-held devices, thus creating a new kind of a mobile pedestrian navigation system for PDAs.
