Background: Corporate health management comprises the control and development of company structures and processes in order to support health at work. With the rising adoption of information and communication technologies, digital tools supporting analog measures of corporate health management have also been increasingly implemented in recent years. Objectives: To date, there is hardly any scientific research or anecdotal evidence on the use of corporate health management tools. Against this background, the aim of the present work is to identify opportunities and challenges of using a digital corporate health management tool from an organizational perspective. Materials and methods: A literature review was carried out to transparently summarize the state of research. Moreover, expert interviews were conducted, which were analyzed through a content analysis. The interviews served to validate the conceptual–theoretical knowledge gained from the review. Results and conclusion: Most of the opportunities and challenges identified in the literature review were also mentioned by the experts. Addressing a broad target group with digital tools as well as saving time and costs are significant opportunities when using corporate health management tools. The biggest challenges are data protection and the fact that the digital tools must complement analog measures, but cannot replace them—this requires a coordinated deployment strategy. Another challenging aspect is the lack of standardized criteria and seals of approval.
