N2 - Focused Conductivity Spectroscopy is a special modality of multichannel bioimpedance spectroscopy It aims at the extraction of tissue mlomution from a minimum set of strategically positioned surface electrodes. A method is presented for tindine the optimal positions for the monitoring of pulmonary edema. It is based on minimizing the estimated coefficient of variation (CV) of an edema index ia a realistic model of the thorax. The optimal positions obtained for 10 electrodes are physically reasonable. The CV of the best configuration is less than I of Thai of the worst one.
