Abstract

The shift to a decentralized and digitalized energy market in Europe requires efficient and standardized energy data exchange. Diverse national data governance rules create interoperability problems, hindering market efficiency and crossborder integration. This paper analyzes the diversity in energy data-sharing mechanisms among European nations, categorizing them into centralized, decentralized, and hybrid frameworks. The publication synthesizes conclusions gathered from several knowledge-sharing round-tables with experts from regional representatives into a taxonomy that delineates the current roles and duties across various European member states. Furthermore, the research suggests a potential solution by presenting critical modules for connecting heterogeneous member states by acting as a mediator layer.
