Abstract
We present photoluminescence and magneto-optical investigations on CdTe/MnTe-superlattices. By applying a magnetic field in Faraday-geometry the luminescence originating from subband recombination of electrons and holes gets circularly polarized. The degree of this polarization is about 90% and its saturation is reached at 0.5T already. The initial slope of the polarization venus magnetic field indicates a giant enhancement of the g-factor of electrons and holes as typical in semimagnetic semiconductors. The measured g-factors are decreasing with the magnetic field. We attribute the g-factor enhancement to interdiffused manganese in the CdTe-wells and we evaluate its concentration. Inaddition we also present high resolution x-ray diffraction data from which the decay length of the Mn-profile is determined.
