CPV-T Receiver Concepts with Spectral Splitting

Publikation: Beitrag in Buch/Bericht/TagungsbandKonferenzbeitrag

Abstract

The central aim of this research work is the further development of concentrating hybrid (CPV T) collectors in order to simultaneously generate industrial process heat above 150 C and electrical energy. The key challenge of hybrid mid temperature collectors is the fact that the electrical part of the receiver requires low temperatures for an efficient operation, while the thermal part should be driven at temperatures as high as possible to be able to apply the system to industrial heat sinks with a certain temperature demand As the two parts of the receiver are often built together closely, heat transfer from the thermal to the electrical part occurs that leads to an undesired deviation from the respective temperature optimum The concept of “Spectral Splitting” is one of the possible approaches to work on this central discrepancy of concentrating hybrid collectors.
