Abstract
Modern hot rolling mills allow to produce hot-rolled strip with thickness of less than 1 mm. Thus, galvanized hot-rolled strip can be used instead of cold-rolled strip with anticorrosion coating. The 'Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau' company has developed new units for galvanizing the hot-rolled strip. Scheme of the unit has been presented. Cleaning of hot-rolled strip is necessary for producing the reliable zinc coating. Pickling of the strip is provided. Plant for descaling of the strip is applied. Combined unit for pickling and galvanizing can also be used for processing the cold-rolled strip.
