Abstract

This paper elaborates on the geospatial semantics of Supply Chain Visibility (SCV) and how a Geospatial Knowledge Graph (GeoKG) helps to answer spatio-temporal questions related to the supply chain. An ontology is developed to provide a generic semantic model for the SCV domain, based on existing ontologies and ontology design patterns. Secondly, an early-stage GeoKG is constructed in a GeoSPARQL-enabled semantic triplestore to demonstrate the spatio-temporal querying capability. The focus of this work is on the semantic representation of spatio-temporal trajectories of material flow as this is the central aspect of SCV.
