Building up a simple house, you can see the steps and the highest aim of building and construction: the top of the pyramid. - Building codes and Energy Performance Certificats are minimum standard to build up a house. They are the fundamental basis. - To get an optimized Energy Performance Certificate is not easy and not self-evident. Some Certificats are the paper not worth they are printed on. - If you want to know how the building really works you have to do thermal simulations. - The next step is to find a holistic planning process. Nowadays nobody is able to consider all aspects of holistic planning. Therefore you need a team of experts. When the building owner agrees to consider also the lifecycle costs (LCC) it begins to be complex. - With lifcycle assessment (LCA) of the building and materials you reach a very high level of planning process. To follow up the „Triple Zero Concept: Zero energy / Zero emissions / Zero waste“ is the summit of Building Ecology (climate protection and consideration for resources). - Additionally healthy buildings are created considering Building Biology (relationship of living being – built environment). - The best ideas do not work if the quality is not tested and proved with Total Quality Assessment (TQA). - If you want to be sure to get such a high performance building you should provide one of the „Green building certificates“ - But the best building is a mistake if the user of this building feels not satisfied and comfortable (Well-being = W!).
