Aboriginal Populations in the Mind. Critical Whiteness in Psychotherapy and Counselling

Aktivität: Gespräch oder VortragGeladener Gastvortrag

Beschreibung

Counselling methods used in the social sciences come predominantly from the discipline of psychology – more precisely – they are derived from psychotherapy methods. The human image of psychology, on the other hand, is deeply anchored in a colonial episteme. The lecture will shed light on the importance of this connection for counseling and therapy, but also present ways in which decolonial counseling and therapy can be practiced from a critical whiteness perspective.
